Call for Award Nominations
American Academy of Periodontology (AAP) awards recognize individuals for contributions to the Academy and the profession of periodontics. Awards are given in several areas: education and mentoring, scientific and clinical research, and service to the AAP and periodontics. A full description of all awards and eligibility criteria is on the AAP website at https://www.perio.org/for-members/aap-organizational-information/academy-awards/. The Academy’s objective is to recognize and honor those who move our profession forward.
The Awards Committee reviews all the nominations submitted and nominates members for service awards; the AAP Board of Trustees selects recipients. The Education Committee selects the Outstanding Periodontal Educator, and the Research Submissions Committee selects published articles for research awards.
Please take a moment to nominate a colleague, teacher, scientist, or humanitarian for an AAP award. You can find the award nomination form at https://www.perio.org/for-members/aap-organizational-information/academy-awards/award-nomination-form/. The deadline for award nominations is Jan. 31, 2027.
Questions relating to Academy awards may be directed to Maureen Gallagher, Governance Specialist, or e-mail [email protected].
