AAP Foundation Announces New Leadership, Roles, and Board Members
New Foundation Leadership
We are happy to introduce Dr. Lisa Masters as the new AAP Foundation President, alongside Kyle Gorden, who became Executive Director on Jan. 1. “As the President of the AAPF I am excited to work with our new Executive Director, Kyle Gorden. Kyle brings years of fundraising experience that will guide us to success with the Foundation for the Future Campaign,” said Dr. Masters. “Each year brings fresh faces to the Foundation Board, and I am excited to work with all of these individuals who are committed to supporting the Foundation with their time and talents. The AAPF supports many programs and awards that enhance the specialty of periodontics, reward educators for their academic contributions, and encourage young researchers and residents. Now is the perfect time to show your support with a generous gift to the Foundation that will have a timely and direct impact.”
Kyle echoed the sentiment, saying, “It is truly a privilege to join the AAP Foundation at this time of growing ambition in fundraising and increasing impact on the field of periodontology. I am especially grateful to be partnering with Dr. Lisa Masters, who has already proven to be a valued partner and guide as I learn about the close-knit community in this fascinating field. I look forward to travelling to several of the regional meetings and other events over the coming year and meeting more Foundation donors and AAP members.”
New Foundation Roles
In addition to our leadership changes, we are excited to announce several new roles within the Foundation. Supporting President Dr. Lisa Masters, our 2024-2025 officers of the AAP Foundation Board of Directors are Vice President Dr. Christopher Richardson, Secretary-Treasurer Dr. David Yu, and Immediate Past President Dr. John Herrin.
After several years with the Foundation, Sarah VanAmburg has been promoted to the position of Director of Development Programs. In her new role, she’ll lead programmatic fundraising efforts, stewardship initiatives, and special events, while contributing to the Foundation’s marketing and communications.
